Hi there! My name is Caitlin Balicki and I am thrilled to be a part of Project SERVE! This year I am working at Weinberg Housing and Resource Center as a volunteer coordinator and after just one week of work, I can already tell what an amazing experience it will be! I am originally from Brunswick, Maine but I spent my college years in Burlington, Vermont at Saint Michael’s College where I was Sociology major and a Gender Studies minor. Needless to say, this will be my first year living outside of New England! I am already really enjoying the great City of Baltimore and city living.
While in college, I always knew I wanted to do a year of service after graduation to work for social justice. When I stumbled across Project SERVE, I knew it would be a great fit because I wanted to be in a program where I was doing important and meaningful work, but also interacting with and living with other volunteers. So far, the intentional community aspect of the program has been great and I can’t wait to see how much the four of us will grow and learn alongside each other this year!
