As the physical education teacher and coach at St. Vincent’s Villa, Glenn Simpkins has earned bragging rights. For 12 out of the past 14 softball playoffs, the team has emerged as champions, winning the Maryland Youth Athletic Association’s title of Team of the Decade.
In addition to his teaching responsibilities at the Harford and Timonium campuses, Glenn occasionally serves as a residential treatment counselor.
“These kids have kept me here,” he says of his 24 years on the job. “This is a vocation that allows me to fulfill the Gospel tenants to love, serve and teach. It’s an awesome privilege.”
Glenn says that he feels fortunate to be a part of a team that is making an impact in the lives of children. “I really appreciate my colleagues,” says Glenn. “They come early and stay late to work with the children and it’s nothing short of phenomenal what they do.”
