Head Start is a family affair for Mr. Ed Wilson (fourth from left) who has two grandchildren attending Catholic Charities Carroll County Head Start and another two in our Early Head Start program. Ed, who received the 2010 Carroll County Head Start Parent of the Year Award and is one of the program’s most devoted supporters, serves on the policy council, acts as a parent member of employee interview teams, and volunteers in the classroom nearly every day.
According to Liza Frye, the director of the program, Ed is a true Head Start advocate. His daughters, Nikita (third from left) and Angela (third from right), and son-in-law Durell (second from right) participate in the educational workshops, classroom activities and case management services offered to the families.
Ed says, “The whole family is touched by this program. My grandchildren get a great education here. The wonderful teachers take the time to work with every child and no one is left behind. This program is part of our family and I’m so proud to be a part of it.”
