At the Baltimore Sun 2013 Top Workplace Awards, Catholic Charities was ranked 7th out of the top 15 large employers! Equally as exciting is that we were ranked the Top Non-profit in the large employer category! Here is the ranking of the top 15 in the large employer category. KEYW Corp; FutureCare, Agora, Inc.; Connections Education; WPM Real Estate Management; T. Rowe Price Group Inc; Catholic Charities of Baltimore; Aerotek; Humanin, Inc.; eBay Inc./PayPal; University of Maryland, Baltimore County; McCormick & Company, Inc.; Bon Secours Baltimore Health System; Columbia Association; and Comcast. One hundred companies were recognized in all categories.
Employees from all over the Agency were selected at random and surveyed anonymously by Workplace Dynamics, the independent Human Resources firm that managed the anonymous process. Catholic Charities is considered to be among the very best places to build a career in the region.
Executive Director Bill McCarthy told employees, “I am both proud and humbled by these designations. The 2013 Baltimore Sun Top Workplace Award is a well-deserved recognition of your compassionate and excellent work. In terms of being ranked the best nonprofit in our category, I honestly can think of no better programs that improve the lives of people living in poverty, seniors needing housing and medical care, individuals with intellectual disabilities, children and their families, and immigrants. This award is because of you.
“I constantly remind myself that we have been given a great gift—the opportunity to use our God-given talents in ways that mirror our personal values as well as our organizational values to love, serve, teach, and work for justice. What we achieve as an Agency is rooted in your dedication to bring our Mission of improving the lives of Marylanders into reality. In January, we will celebrate this Top Workplace award as part of our Mission Awareness Month at receptions throughout the Agency.”
