The mission of Catholic Charities Head Start of Baltimore City Male Involvement Initiative is to empower, encourage and inspire adult males with Head Start children to be leaders in their homes and communities. This program year, events included: the Male Involvement Welcoming Dinner, with motivational speaker and author of The Science of Manhood, Mr. Direk Barnes; the Winter Wonderland Door Decorating Contest and Ice Cream Social; and the Male Involvement Resource Fair.
Janel Nichols, Family Services/Male Involvement Initiative Coordinator, says, “I look forward to networking with more community partners in the future, and to continue to develop more Head Start males to be leaders. Catholic Charities Head Start of Baltimore City values family and community partnerships that help to enhance the family structure as a whole!”
