(Garrett County, April 18, 2019) Nick Callis, a teacher at Northern Garrett High School and leader of the Student Service Alliance program took his students out of the classroom and into the community to serve at Food Connect, a Catholic Charities’ monthly food distribution program assisting more than 150 families.
Nick Callis’ altruistic outreach runs in the family. His mother, Frances, serves as Catholic Charities’ sole representative and coordinator for Western Maryland and manages the Food Connect program.
