Service Learning: Alternative Break

Catholic Charities invites college groups to spend an Alternative Break volunteering with us in Baltimore. Throughout the week, students serve with multiple Catholic Charities programs addressing a variety of needs, including poverty, hunger, homelessness, early childhood education, immigration services and care for aging adults. We believe this personal encounter with the individuals we serve is a crucial lens for students to reflect on the cause and effect of intersecting social issues, what organizations like Catholic Charities are doing to address them, what barriers remain and how students can continue to act after they return home.

Trips are available for fall, winter and spring break and are open to groups of 10-12. Catholic Charities provides lodging at our Project SERVE house or at a local parish.
