Cynthia, a MSPWC client, holds up part of the present she received from PWNP birthday party.

For the fifth year, People Who Need People (PWNP), a Howard County volunteer organization comprised of over one hundred women and their daughters, hosted Everybody’s Birthday Bash at My Sister’s Place Women’s Center. The annual event is a collaborative celebration of all the clients’ birthdays throughout the year.

The Bash included a lunch prepared and served by PWNP, and of course birthday cake for dessert. The group also gave out gift packages to all the women and their children, which included new articles of clothing, toiletries, and toys collected by the volunteer group. The party would not have been complete without games. After everyone finished their cake, they spent the afternoon enjoying fun games including musical chairs and BINGO.

People Who Need People is a year-round supporter of MSPWC. The group prepares and serves a hot breakfast the second Sunday of every month, organizes specific needs drives, makes blankets, hosts events like Everybody’s Birthday Bash, and delivers gifts of flowers and candy to the women for Valentine’s Day.

Thank you to People Who Need People for helping the women and children of My Sister’s Place Women’s Center celebrate their lives.  The generosity and care that PWNP give to their efforts helps to rebuild the women and children’s self-esteem and makes them feel valued and appreciated for who they are on a personal and emotional level.  This is a priceless gift that is cherished by those at My Sister’s Place.
