Erickson Living, the largest developer of Continuing Care Retirement Communities in the United States, has been involved in Catholic Charities’ Dragon Boat Races since 2002. Erickson’s Dragon Boat Race partner is St. Ann Adult Day Services, and throughout those ten years, Erickson has proven to be a terrific program supporter.
Erickson employees come to St. Ann at least four times every year for a wide variety of events with the residents. Each May, the folks from Erickson arrive to plant flowers in the courtyard to commemorate Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.
They supply all of the flowers, and spend the day beautifying the garden that the residents enjoy all season long. Employees return in July for the annual Summer Cookout, for a day of fun and socializing.
Another really memorable time of year is the Caregivers’ Breakfast, on the first Friday of each November, when Erickson employees recognize the tremendous contributions made every day by the caregivers at St. Ann. All of the caregivers receive gifts, and are treated to a special meal.
And no one can forget the Christmas Party that Erickson hosts at St. Ann every December. Each resident receives a present, along with one gift that is brought for the enjoyment of all. One year they gave a Wii Gaming System, and another year they donated a ping-pong table that residents and guests enjoy to this day. The commitment and dedication shown by the employees of Erickson are another wonderful story of the partnerships that are formed by the Dragon Boat Races.
