Carolyn Gutermuth is a shining example of the charity shown to women and children at My Sister’s Place Women’s Center as well as to her employer, the Injured Workers Insurance Fund (IWIF). The company encourages its employees to give back to their community through many avenues. As Chair of IWIF’s Charitable Contributions program, Carolyn oversees the committee’s review of grant and sponsorship proposals, coordinates a number of employee volunteer opportunities as well as the company’s matching program and United Way campaign.

Carolyn attended the first Bridesmaids’ Bingo in 2003 through IWIF’s sponsorship of the event and has been a strong supporter of My Sister’s Place Women’s Center ever since. Carolyn’s dedication to the work of the Center led her to join the Bridesmaids’ Bingo planning committee, serving as Co-Chair from 2004 to 2006. Over the years, Carolyn has introduced a host of new participants to My Sister’s Place Women’s Center. She continues her commitment by preparing and serving meals to the Center’s impoverished women and their children, while encouraging others to volunteer as well. Her spirit, leadership, and tireless efforts make Carolyn Gutermuth the perfect My Sister’s Place Women’s Center Woman of the Year.
