The Family Stability Program

The Family Stability Program provides intensive case management, assists families to remain housed, supports families so their children remain in their original schools, helps them obtain affordable housing, and provides families with the tools they need to become self-sufficient.

The Family Stability Program is part of a nationwide initiative led by the Siemer Institute for Family Stability and supported by the United Way of Central Maryland. In Baltimore, the program was launched by Catholic Charities on May 1, 2012.

Case Management

Families work one-on-one with a case manager who will assess your family’s strengths, set and work on goals, and connect you to community resources. Intensive case management is provided six to nine months.

Workshops / One-On-One Counseling

Participate in home energy savings workshops to learn ways you can reduce your utility bills. Develop job search skills through one-on-one career. Improve your financial management through a set of individual and group sessions with experts.

Financial Assistance

Receive short-term financial assistance so your family can remain housed and your children can succeed in school. Types of financial assistance are determined by each individual’s family’s needs.

We help families who:
• Live in the 21215 zip code area.
• Are at risk of losing permanent housing.
• Have at least one school-aged child enrolled in grade K-5.
• Have an income less than 50% of the area median level.
• Have an income that is able to sustain their monthly expenses.
• Have financial assistance needs that can be met with the funding that is available.
• Are willing to participate in case management and meet program responsibilities.
