Jenkins Campus

The Jenkins Senior Living Community is Maryland’s first senior community to offer options to low and moderate income individuals for independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing care, rehabilitation, and medical day care.

The Jenkins Senior Living Community is located on 25 beautiful acres in southwest Baltimore City and is home to more than 400 seniors. Our community includes two senior apartment buildings with services, St. Joachim House and DePaul House; St. Ann Adult Day Services; Caritas House Assisted Living; St. Elizabeth Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and Answers for the Aging, a free telephone information and referral service. In addition, we operate the Cherry Hill Senior Center located in the Cherry Hill Town Center.

Over the years, our dedicated staff, friends, families, donors and volunteers have played a vital role in helping us provide innovative quality care with compassion, excellence and integrity. An important element of our success is our focus on person-centered life that encourages elders to make choices in every aspect of daily living. We have created a home here in the Jenkins Community, offering a harmonious and pleasant life for the elders who live in our neighborhoods, for the staff who work here and for the family members who visit.

Founded in 1927, the Jenkins Senior Living Community includes both residential and health care services that address the changing needs of seniors as they age. Our goal is to give seniors the opportunity to “age in place” by providing an array of services. All of the programs in the community are linked by enclosed, connecting hallways. Pastoral care is available at all the Jenkins facilities.

A board-certified internist and geriatrician, as well as an adult nurse practitioner, have a practice on the campus to provide primary care to interested residents. The Jenkins Senior Living Community is Maryland’s first and only senior living community to offer a full continuum of senior care for those of low- to moderate- income.
