Mary is a Sarah’s House client whom we are continuing to help on her life’s journey to self-sufficiency and financial stability. Mary had a job as a driver in Anne Arundel County. Like many of our working clients, she was not earning enough to support herself and needed our Emergency Shelter program. She completed the program successfully in 3 months and decided to continue her education in order to get a better job.
Mary is living in our transitional housing and saving money. While with us, she has earned an Associate of Science degree with a certificate in Medical Billing and Coding. Working with our Outreach program, she has found a job in her field with a dramatically increased salary. We are now working with her to find permanent, affordable housing and to support her as she works to build a good life for herself. As we watch her grow, acquire new skills and become a strong, independent person, we become more certain each day that she can achieve her dreams.
