“Bill McCarthy remembers all too well the riots of 1968 in Baltimore. That was a time when the city’s soul seemed to be ripped open as parts of Baltimore burned following the assassination of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in Memphis. As the two-year anniversary of the death of Freddie Gray approached, McCarthy pondered the city’s fate once again.”

Catholic Charities’ executive director Bill McCarthy was interviewed for a Baltimore Business Journal Article profiling six people who are working to help build a stronger West Baltimore, two years after the death of Freddie Gray and the ensuing unrest.
