(Baltimore, May 2, 2019) With praise and thanks, seven women graduated from the Learn to Earn clerical and culinary internship program offered by My Sister’s Place Women’s Center. Pennye James, the program supervisor, said the students gained hands-on training, classroom lessons, and networking opportunities through the 8-week class. Now, the participants are confidently searching for work.

To make the day extra special, generous supporters and volunteers including Dottie Lopez and Cindy Franzoni donated beautiful and stylish handbags filled with a variety of essentials to help the women feel prepared and business ready. Smaller and yet equally chic handbags were also donated by Polly Houck and Tammy Baczynyskyj members of the group – Commercial Real Estate Women of Baltimore (CREWBaltimore).

“This gift made the women feel extra special,” said James. “Our next internship program is already underway, with four women taking part in the clerical internship.”

Graduates received new handbags filled with toiletries and other essentials to help them feel ready for work.
