The shuttered 145 parishes of the Archdiocese of Baltimore will get support this spring from a $1.5 million loan aimed to help keep the lights on and parishioners in virtual pews.
The churches last month were ordered closed by Archbishop William E. Lori amid the spread of the deadly novel coronavirus and the state of emergency in Maryland declared by Gov. Larry Hogan. The closings also meant idling weekly collection plates that help fund church budgets. Read more>>
