Catholic Charities’ 13 leaders who completed our program in partnership with Notre Dame University of Maryland
Because leadership is so important, Catholic Charities is dedicated to professional development. This May, 13 Catholic Charities leaders completed a three-credit program in partnership with Notre Dame of Maryland University. They learned about the three stages of leadership: leading self, leading others, and leading results.
These leaders viewed each stage through the lens of what we call the Catholic Charities commitments: dignity, compassiona, humility, collaboration, excellence and integrity. They also examined each stage while considering Stephen Covey’s long-admired leadership guide, “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.”
We chose the participants based on their potential to contribute to the ongoing development and achievement of Catholic Charities’ objectives. In addition to class attendance and out-of-classroom reading and reflections, the participants completed an individual leadership development plan, incorporating what they learned.
