PNC highly values our four key constituents: our customers, our communities, our shareholders, and our employees. We believe our PNC Grow Up Great program brings together these groups in a unique way that results in positive and lasting change that helps to ensure that children, especially those living in low- to moderate-income communities, arrive at school ready to learn; increasing their chances for success in school and in life.

PNC Grow Up Great is an investment in school readiness to help prepare children from birth to age five for success in school and life. PNC provides leadership, advocacy, resources, and volunteers to assist parents, caregivers, and communities in their efforts to increase the potential for young children to succeed.

As part of the program, employees may earn 40 hours of paid time off to volunteer at an early childhood education center and if they do so in one year, they may earn that center a $1,000 grant.

Shelley Fowler was the first of PNC’s Greater Maryland employees to earn a $1,000 grant for the center where she volunteered 40 hours – Catholic Charities Head Start of Carroll County in Westminster.  “Volunteering for Grow Up Great is a great opportunity to be part of an exciting program….a program that not only benefits the children and their future, but also impacts the community in which we live.  I believe in passing my blessings on….as long as I have the time and the talents, I will continue to give back to the community,” said Shelley.
