October 21, 2019 – Baltimore – Loyola University partnered with Catholic Charities of Baltimore to sponsor a panel discussion on experiences, legal issues and spiritual perspectives of Central American immigrant youth.
Panelists included: Scott Rose, Deacon for Archdiocese of Baltimore and a pro-bono attorney with Esperanza Center;
Rev. Leo J. O’Donovan, S.J., mission dir. Jesuit Refugee Service/USA and president emeritus of Georgetown University;
Silvia Delgado, who fled Central America as a teenager;
Williams Guevera who also escaped Central America’s violence in 2012;
Mikhael Borgonos, Managing Attorney of Esperanza Center’s Immigration Legal Services;
Cary Plamondon, J.D., pro bono attorney for the Esperanza Center;
Val Twanmoh, J.D., director of the Esperanza Center;
and Andrea Naft, an Esperanza Center volunteer.
